Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit research applications focused on preclinical development of lead candidate vaccines to prevent Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection and/or disease, and to increase the clinical pipeline of viable vaccine candidates. This NOFO will utilize the R01 activity code. Applications are not being solicited at this time. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.Investigators with expertise and insights into this area of tuberculosis research are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this new NOFO. In addition, collaborative investigations will be encouraged and these investigators should also begin considering applying for this NOFO.
