Description
The Office of Strategic Coordination (Common Fund) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for theNIH Director’s Transformative Research Award, part of theHigh-Risk, High-Reward Research program. TheNIH Director’s Transformative Research Awardsupports individual scientists or groups of scientists proposing bold, groundbreaking, exceptionally innovative, original, and/or unconventional research with the potential to create new scientific paradigms, establish entirely new and improved clinical approaches, or develop transformative technologies.Preliminary data and detailed experimental plans are not requested or required.
Applications are not being solicited at this time. Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful and responsive projects. Investigators of exceptional creativity with a high-risk, high-impact proposal are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this new NOFO. This NOFO will utilize the R01 activity code.
