15.808 -- U.S. Geological Survey Research and Data Collection
The USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center, Davie, Florida is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research and technical assistance with a range of ecological questions where integration of large datasets such as those derived from long-term species capture records and satellite telemetry with remotely-sensed products is needed. Approaches using quantitative and geospatial analyses are needed as is experience conducting and publishing reviews that include peer-reviewed manuscripts and reports.Protection of biological diversity has been identified at the global, national, state, and local levels as a critical component of protecting native ecosystems. Effective protection of an area's ecological integrity involves having the ability to evaluate and monitor effects of management actions. This project is designed to meet specific DOI science needs and to provide tools necessary for evaluation and assessment of management strategies for protected sea turtle species.
This financial assistance opportunity is being issued under a Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) Program. CESU"s are partnerships that provide research, technical assistance, and education. Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of the South Florida and Caribbean CESU Program.
