    Description

The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $17,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds. This NOFO will enhance the capacity of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama to address gaps in HIV prevention, diagnosis, and treatment and accelerate progress towards achieving the 10-10-10 prevention objectives and 95-95-95 care targets. Focuses include:Prevent new infections: Scale up access to HIV prevention for key populations through the Sentinel Surveillance and Control of STIs (VICITS/CLAM) strategy. Differentiated models will be used to provide pre-exposure prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of STIs, distribution of condoms and lubricants, HIV testing, linkage to treatment, and a surveillance information system. Additionally, link at risk populations with negative HIV test results to prevention services.Increase knowledge of HIV status and early diagnosis: Improve access to HIV testing by implementing case-finding strategies, including testing as part of outreach for key populations, index testing, provider-initiated testing, community testing, social network strategy, and self-testing.Improve treatment outcomes among people living with HIV: Support early treatment initiation, retention, management of advanced HIV disease, access to viral load monitoring/suppression, and expansion of differentiated service delivery models.Support HIV workforce development: Enhance skills of health care workers involved in HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services through trainings and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
