    Description

    The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $2,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.This NOFO is expected to strengthen laboratory systems in Botswana and build the capacity of the Ministry of Health (MoH) to provide quality laboratory services that support HIV/AIDS diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and surveillance. The NOFO will support strengthening of laboratory referral networks for HIV related testing in priority districts to result in optimization of services, laboratory mentorship, including trainings and support visit, strengthen laboratory continuous quality improvement, including lab quality management system and support, and strengthen biosecurity and biosafety issues and laboratory surveillance. Interventions to be supported include providing access to viral load (VL) services to improve coverage and suppression among clients on antiretroviral treatment (ART); expanding early infant diagnosis (EID) services, particularly to improve EID coverage for infants less than 2 months; and improving the quality of HIV rapid testing; and monitoring HIV drug resistance. This NOFO is expected to further support international accreditation of selected laboratories and ensure laboratories participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
