    Description

The NHLBI intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit current or recently completed NHLBI career development awardees for small grant support to expand their current research objectives or to branch out to a new study that resulted from the research conducted under their career development awards. The overall objective of this program is to provide a small grant support for NHLBI career development award recipients who have high potential but face challenges in their transition to research independence thus need additional support to help generate critical preliminary data and publications to facilitate their K-to-R transition.

Applications are not being solicited at this time. Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.Investigators with expertise and insights into this area are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this NOFO.
