    Description

    The Native Hawaiian Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NHRCDV) will offer a comprehensive array of statewide community education, training, and technical assistance resources to organizations and providers of services to Native Hawaiians, specifically designed to enhance the capacity of organizations and providers to respond to family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence in a culturally sensitive and relevant manner. The NHRCDV will be part of a network of National and Special Issue Resource Centers providing leadership and support to the existing programs serving victims of domestic violence and their children. One award will be issued, and preference will be given to applicants proposing to establish or maintain a resource center in the State of Hawaii, and bonus points will be provided to such applications.

    Native Hawaiian organizationsPrivate institutions of higher education Faith-based community organizations To be eligible to receive a grant to establish or maintain a State Resource Center to Reduce Tribal Disparities under 42 U.S.C. 10410(b)(3) of the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA), an entity must be: A Native Hawaiian organization located in a state in which the population of Native Hawaiians exceeds 10 percent of the population of the state. An entity that is a Native Hawaiian organization that focuses primarily on issues of domestic violence among Native Hawaiians. An entity that demonstrates the ability to serve all regions of the state, including underdeveloped areas and areas that are geographically distant from population centers. For additional details on the eligibility requirements for the SRC please see 42 U.S.C. 10410 (b)(3) and (c)(4) of the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, as amended by Section 201 of the CAPTA Reauthorization Act of 2010, Pub. L. 111-320. Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from the merit review and funding under this funding opportunity. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity. Faith-based organizations may apply for this award on the same basis as any other organization, as set forth at and, subject to the protections and requirements of 45 CFR Part 87 and 42 U.S.C. 2000bb et seq., ACF will not, in the selection of recipients, discriminate against an organization on the basis of the organization's religious character, affiliation, or exercise.
