    Description

The US Geological Survey’s National and Regional Climate Adaptation Science Center (NRCASC) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to support the project entitled “Synthesizing changing oak species distributions, mast availability, and effects on wildlife species under future climate, social, and land-use change”. The funding opportunity aims to develop a research product which will identify climate, land-use, and social factors that influence oak presence, regeneration, and seed (i.e., mast) availability and how potential changes to mast productivity affects wildlife species in the Appalachian section of the Central Hardwood Forest. The recipient will work collaboratively with USGS to provide scientific advancement in the climate change ecology and land use science, and will help to advance scientific modeling of resource availability for oak-dependent ecosystems.
