The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (Parent F32).The goal of the NRSA F32 is to support promising candidates during their mentored postdoctoral training under the guidance of experienced faculty sponsors. Candidates for the NRSA F32 program, in consultation with them mentor(s), are expected to propose a research training project and training plan in scientific health-related fields relevant to the mission of the participating Institutes and Centers. This training plan should reflect the applicant’s research training project and facilitate and clearly enhance the individual’s potential to develop the necessary skills for further career advancement. The training plan should document the need for, and the anticipated value of, the proposed mentored research and training in relationship to the individual’s research career goals. The training plan should also facilitate the fellow’s transition to the next stage of their research career. The research training project and training plans are expected to provide the candidate with a strong understanding of the rigorous research design, experimental methods, quantitative approaches, and data analysis.
