      93.859 -- Biomedical Research and Research Training

    Description

    The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) invites applications for Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) awards from investigators at biomedical research institutions that award doctoral degrees in the health sciences or sciences related to health or at independent biomedical research institutes with ongoing biomedical research programs funded by the NIH or other Federal agencies within the IDeA- eligible states. The purpose of the INBRE program is to augment and strengthen the biomedical research capacity of IDeA-eligible states. The INBRE program represents a collaborative effort to sponsor research between research intensive institutions and primarily undergraduate institutions, community colleges, and Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs), as appropriate.

    Other Eligible Applicants include the following: Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions; Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISISs); Eligible Agencies of the Federal Government; Faith-based or Community-based Organizations; Hispanic-serving Institutions; Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs); Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Other than Federally Recognized); Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Organizations); Regional Organizations; Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs) ; U.S. Territory or Possession; Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are not eligible to apply. Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S. Organizations are not eligible to apply. Foreign components, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement, are not allowed.
