      14.889 -- Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants

    Description

    Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants support the implementation of comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plans that are expected to achieve the following three core goals: 1. Housing: Replace distressed public and assisted housing with high-quality mixed-income housing that is well-managed and responsive to the needs of the surrounding neighborhood; 2.  People: Improve outcomes of households living in the target housing related to employment and income, health, and children’s education; and  3. Neighborhood: Create the conditions necessary for public and private reinvestment in distressed neighborhoods to offer the kinds of amenities and assets, including safety, good schools, and commercial activity, that are important to families’ choices about their community. This NOFO has two deadline dates: one for new Implementation Grants and one for Supplemental Grants.The application due date for an Implementation Grant 11:59:59 pm Eastern Time on February 13, 2024.  Any application received after that deadline that is not applying for the Supplemental Grant funding is automatically ineligible. The pool of eligible applicants for a Supplemental Grant is limited to those previously awarded CN Implementation Grant recipients as stated in the Appendix. The due date for a Supplemental Grant application is 11:59:59 pm Eastern time on March 4, 2024.

    Additional Eligibility Information

    The local government of jurisdiction must be either the Lead Applicant or Co-Applicant. The Lead Applicant can be either a Public Housing Agency (PHA), local government, or Tribal entity. A Co-Applicant can be a local government, PHA, Tribal entity, or the owner of the target HUD-assisted housing (e.g., nonprofit or for-profit developer). Individuals, foreign entities, and sole proprietorship organizations are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.
