      93.243 -- Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance

    Description

    The purpose of this program is to provide the technical assistance and training necessary to ensure the provision of evidence-based prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery support programs/services identifying local physicians and other practitioners (advance practice nurses, physician assistants), clinicians, peers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals with expertise in prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services for opioid use disorder (OUD) and stimulant use disorders. With this program, SAMHSA aims to respond to local needs by providing free substance use-related educational resources and training to SOR/TOR recipients, health care professionals and paraprofessionals, states, communities, community-based organizations, and individuals.

    Eligible applicants are States and Territories (Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau), including the District of Columbia, political subdivisions of States, Indian tribes, or tribal organizations (as such terms are defined in section 5304 of title 25), health facilities, or programs operated by or in accordance with a contract or award with the Indian Health Service, or other public or private non-profit entities.
