However, Nevada GrantLab’s 2023 Nonprofit Sector Analysis reveals that the sector is grossly undersized, underfunded, and understaffed, especially in the Las Vegas region.

NonProfit Community Survey Results
Between October and November 2022, Nevada GrantLab surveyedover 200 Nevada based, nonprofit professionals to gain insight into their experience, Nevada community needs, the challenges they face, and other topics related to readiness for local, state, and federal government grants. One of the most significant discoveries was a growing gap between demand or nonprofit services and the organizations’ available resources with which to provide them. Details of this finding and others can be found in the report below.

Demand, Revenue, and Other Challenges Facing Nonprofits
Over 200 nonprofit professionals shared their experiences and challenges by taking our Nonprofit Community Survey. We asked about topics like demand for services, financial and operational challenges, and experience with government grants. Among the surprising results:
87.5%
reported a change in revenue between 2019 and 2022.
67%
saw increased demand for services.
41.5%
couldn’t meet demand—over half of them despite higher revenue.
